Instrumentation for Surgeries Requiring Torque and Ratcheting Functionality

Cost responsible solution for reusable torque ratcheting instruments.

Caltorque Medical Products introduces Continuum, the guaranteed calibrated torque ratcheting instrument for up to one year of surgical use. Continuum will address and eliminate the complicated and risky systems management of calibration and recalibration of instruments in the field. Gone are the days of wondering when an instrument should be recalibrated and if an instrument should be pulled from kits and trays in the field. Caltorque Medical Products has also drastically altered the economics of reusable instrumentation.

“We are introducing our Continuum series of instruments at an acquisition cost of 60 percent less than the traditional reusable stainless steel and silicone coated instrumentation currently in use worldwide. We have truly brought a cost responsible solution to the medical device industry where our customers are demanding cost reductions and true value added technology and benefits,” said Doug Slomski. “Our instruments have a standard torque range starting at one inch pound to over 120 inch pounds of force. We believe that to be the broadest standard range available in the market.”

The Continuum series products are available as torque limiting and ratcheting as standard as well as compatible with all other Caltorque Medical features. That means virtually any combination of features will be available. As sales of the first in industry TorqueSafe have rocketed in the last year, the market will soon be filling with these and other Caltorque Medical Products innovations. As such, Caltorque is planning capacity for increased orders and developing a 2017 expansion of facilities and resources.

“Our priority is to maintain our six week lead time for first orders and two week lead time for all follow on orders. To date we have established a 99 percent service level for all our products. With strategic partners we will continue to have high volume product in our inventory Sterile or Non sterile as customer demand dictates,” said Brian Cutler, president and COO of Caltorque Medical Products.
